Introduction to: A Religion of Irrelevance
Why Modern Christianity is Failing to Influence the Modern Mind
This book represents the period in my spiritual development when I was going through a questioning of everything within the confines of what my experience of being a Christian was all about. I know a lot of people can relate to what I have to say here, so I'll leave it posted as is. It's probably true that not everything I discuss in A Religion of Irrelevance is so relevant or meaningful in the current climate of change. However, many of the things I talk about are the very things that helped to bring on the current revolution we are seeing in the Christian world. When I first got on the net, about the same time I finished writing this book, I discovered I was not at all alone in my assessment of the situation. For what it's worth I still believe there are a lot of things that are worth digging into here. The following paragraph is my original introduction to the book:
Why has Christianity digressed from one of the most powerful and respected shapers of American culture to what many thinking people now consider an irrational, irrelevant idea on the fringe of modern society? I wrote A Religion of Irrelevance in order to specifically address this question and to help stimulate constructive debate on the condition of the body of Christ and its need for change and growth toward a more Christ centered view of reality.
